We are a 501(c) NonProfit Organization Legally Authorized to Collect Funds in the United States and Jamaica.

While the rescue is located in Negril, the charitable arm of the organization is a United States based registered non-profit (since 2019), and donations are tax-deductible in the U.S. We operate with transparency and accountability and all donations are used for the benefit of the rescue.

As we shift our mission to focus primarily on providing support to street dogs in their current locations, our physical costs have changed and are focused on food, veterinary needs and preventative care. We ask that you help us each week by sponsoring a bag of dog food (or a portion) to help feed animals for one or several days. While we will aim for $1000 each week (20 bags of food will feed about 85 dogs every day), the number of dogs we can care for will directly correlate to the donations we receive each week from our supporters.

$13USD or 18.74CAD for 1/4 bag to feed 7 street dogs for one day.

$25USD or 36.04CAD for 1/2 bag to feed 15 street dogs for one day.

Your contribution to the General Fund directly supports dogs living where they need help most. Donations provide:

Regular nutricious food and water for hungry strays
Basic veterinary care, including preventative treatments and minor wound care
Education for local residents on how to best care for their pets through vaccination, spay/neuter and regular vetting
Support to build the infrastructure for a future trap-neuter-return (TNR) program, helping reduce overpopulation humanely

Every gift helps these dogs survive today and thrive tomorrow, while building a more sustainable future for Negril’s animals.

Donations to the general fund may also be used for facility maintenance, staffing assistance, utilities and other essentials. With your support, we can continue our mission of saving lives, showing love to and finding loving homes for our rescued dogs.

The storm season of 2024 was the strongest and most unexpected in quite some time. Within a 24-hour period, the wind and rain inflicted over $30,000 in damage to our kennels and facilities, forcing us to move dogs into the house until the money could be raised for the repairs. Thankfully, none of the dogs were hurt. But things could have been much different. At that point, plans began for a sanctuary for the dogs (and humans) during dangerous weather and other challenging conditions. The vision is to utilize a 40-foot shipping container as a makeshift kennel – complete with built in kennels, solar panels, air conditioning, windows, a door, utilities, plumbing and other infrastructure and to fortify the physical property of the rescue for the comfort and convenience of both the dogs and their human servants.

In January 2025, we secured the shipping container, and it was delivered in early February to a newly constructed concrete pad in the front yard of the rescue. Purvez and Jen Captain provided the initial angel gift – the funds for the container – and to honor their generosity, we have offered to name the sanctuary after their beautiful rainbow pup Rufus. Now we ask you to help us raise the remaining funds to create The Rufus Sanctuary.

All donors (or their honorees) will be recognized on signage affixed to the Sanctuary upon completion.


