Faith
Three local “animal angels” came across one of the most horrific scenes we have ever encountered. They found an emaciated, starving young female dog with burn wounds and a hole in her head. She was also suffering from screw worms, ticks, and fleas.
Apparently, her owners were angry with her for going to the gas station to look for food and punished her in the most extreme ways imaginable. They poured scalding hot water on her and tied her up to starve to death.
With the help of a local who uses the services of the Clinic, they were able to load her up in a car and bring her to us. Despite already being at capacity, we accepted this dog with open arms. We could not turn our backs on this poor, skinny, sick, young girl.
Even after the horrible abuse she suffered, this girl didn’t lose faith in humans. So we gave her a name that reflected her incredible resiliency and capacity for love for people. We can all learn from Faith.
Faith is still with us at the rescue and thriving in her renewed health.
